You or your loved one may experience voice changes due to neurogenic voice disorders, vocal nodules, polyps, cysts, hemorrhage, vocal cord paralysis, Parkinson's disease, infections, surgery, or transgender voice. At NeurogeniCSS, we provide behavioral, acoustic & aerodynamic assessments of voice.
Treatment is patient-specific. Depending on the results from your evaluation and underlying diagnosis, your therapist will work with you to develop a treatment plan aligned with your goals & our voice therapy recommendations. We may also make referrals when further medical intervention is recommended.
Your voice therapist may focus on techniques & exercises to improve coordination of the vocal subsystems (i.e., respiration (breathing), phonation, articulation, and resonance), vocal hygiene, vocal rest, tension reduction techniques. Specific voice therapy programs are also offered (e.g., Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) LOUD, an evidence-based intervention for individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD).
